Content in Author-it is broken into reusable components called Topics - individual pieces like a procedure, a warning, or a concept. These Topics are assembled into Books (deliverables like user guides or training manuals) and stored in a central Library. When a Topic is updated, the change flows to every Book that uses it.

Single-source publishing means writing content once and publishing it to multiple formats and channels from that single source. In Author-it, a Topic can appear in a PDF user guide, an HTML5 help portal, a SCORM eLearning module, and an AI-ready JSON output - all without reauthoring or reformatting.
