Adding a Rule

When formatting in your documents is not identified by an existing rule, you can create a new rule.

Tip

You can quickly create rules during the Import Preview.

To Add a Rule:

  1. Select Import > Transformation > Rules in the main window.

    The Import Rules window opens, showing all the rules in your library.

  2. Choose New....
  3. Select the rule type, and give your rule a name and description.

    New Rule - General

    • If Create Topic in Document is selected you will see a Topic Creation tab.
    • If Apply Author-it Style is selected you will see a Style Mapping tab.
    • If Find/Replace Text is selected you will see a Find and Replace tab.
  4. Select the Topic Creation, Style Mapping, or Find and Replace tab, and enter the criteria for your rule.
  5. Save your changes.
